Samaritans Outreach - Malehealth.ie

Samaritans annual month-long outreach campaign in July encourages people from all over the island of Ireland to talk to us . We’re available to our callers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, i.e. 24/7.

Every six seconds, someone in Ireland and the UK contacts Samaritans, and every 90 minutes in Ireland and the UK, someone takes their own life. Samaritans believe that listening is crucial to helping people find their way through their problems, and the charity encourages people to seek help early, rather than when they reach a crisis.

“Feet on the Street” Event

Every year on the 24th July we have a day-long “Feet On The Street” event to raise awareness of Samaritans in our locality. Throughout the month, Samaritans volunteers up and down the country, will be staging events to raise awareness of the services they offer in their local train stations and communities.

Dublin Samaritan volunteers will be on North Earl St on Monday 24th July from 9am – 9pm. Volunteers will be handing out cards, pens and wristbands and offering support to anyone who needs it. This year we are highlighting the location of our centre nearby on Marlborough St and our drop in service – 10am – 10 pm every day. No appointment necessary.

We will also be on site in Heuston Station on July 23rd and in Connolly Station on July 25th raising awareness and connecting in with passengers and Irish Rail staff.
