SUMMARY:Bring a friend to parkrun on the 8th February for World Cancer Day
DESCRIPTION:This year for World Cancer Day we want people to bring a friend to parkrun and raise awareness that physical activity:\n– reduces our risk of getting cancer\n– improve the health and wellbeing of those living with and beyond cancer \nThe Irish Cancer Prevention Network (ICPN) and parkrun are teaming up for the third year to encourage everyone to “Bring a friend to parkrun” on Saturday\, 8th February for World Cancer Day. Parkrun is for everyone and we are encouraging people to walk\, jog\, run\, cheer or volunteer at your local parkrun event.\nThe serious impact of cancer on the lives of thousands of Irish men and women means we must identify opportunities to reduce the risk of the disease and support those affected by cancer. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Carers Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:As part of our mission to ‘make cancer less frightening by enlightening’ and in response to the fantastic feedback we received from our Cancer and COVID-19 Wellness webinar series\, the Marie Keating Foundation\, are delighted to bring a free four-part webinar series for those who care for or support those loved ones on a cancer journey\, directly to your homes. \nWe recognise the integral role carers play in supporting those on a cancer journey\, and what a difficult and at times\, isolating role this can be. In an effort to create a community of carers that can help provide support and information to help you on your journey\, we created the Carer’s Webinar Series. \nIn developing this four-part webinar series we have tried to ensure that we cover topics across a range of subjects experienced by carers to provide support and information. Each week\, our webinar sessions will be moderated by clinical psychologist Dr Eddie Murphy as well as a guest speaker. \nThe four-part series is designed to be enjoyed as a series and is free to register for but if preferred individual sessions can be subscribed to. Once registered for a webinar\, the link will be shared with those signed up two days before the session and an on-demand version of each session will be shared after. \nVisit https://www.mariekeating.ie/carerswebinarseries/ to register for free.
