SUMMARY:Bunninadden Men’s Sports Saturday
DESCRIPTION:Bunninadden Men’s Sports Saturday will take place on Saturday the 16th of June in Bunninadden Sports and Leisure Centre. As part of Men’s Health Week Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership have linked with Sport Ireland and the Men’s Health Forum as part of the Bunninadden Community Sports Hub Initiative to provide a social afternoon of sports\, refreshments and craic with the lad’s. This event will be for all men in Sligo aged 18 years and over.\nThis event will comprise of a taster of a variety of sporting activities for example Archery\, Boxing\, Badminton\, Cycling\, Bowling\, Fitness Circuits\, Table Tennis\, Kurling etc. that the men can try out on the day with the assistance of qualified coaches. The activities will be adapted by the coaches based on the men’s abilities so that there will be sporting activities for everyone’s age and ability. With the men’s feedback Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership in association with the Bunninadden Community Sports Hub can aim to organise some of these activities in Bunninadden and the surrounding areas for the coming months. This will also provide an opportunity for these men to link with various local clubs\, groups and activities. This event will be a social afternoon for the men to have a chat with friends\, meet new people and enjoy some refreshments.\nIt’s time men start looking after themselves. Why not take a few hours for you from 12-4.15pm on Saturday the 16th of June to come to Bunninadden and join men across Sligo for a social sporting event.

DESCRIPTION:The School of Nursing and Midwifery\, are delighted to invite you to a Men’s Health Symposium focusing on current issues that affect men’s health across their lifespan. The Symposium will specifically examine the influence masculinity has on men’s health\, building resilience and promoting positive mental health and wellbeing\, featuring a wide range of experts\, practitioners\, researchers and men’s health advocates from across Ireland. \n  \nThe Men’s Health Symposium is being held on International Men’s Day\, and is a free to attend event aimed at health professionals\, allied professional’s\, educators\, researchers and practitioners who have an interest in men’s health and well-being. The symposium offers attendees the opportunity to discuss\, debate and seek solutions to current issues influencing men’s wellbeing across generations\, and coincides with the ‘Movember movement’ in promoting conversations and dialogue about men’s mental health\, suicide prevention\, prostate cancer\, social isolation and personal stories.
