Paulstown Community Sports Park, Kilkenny – Hands for Life

Hands for Life: Community CPR Training is an Irish Heart Foundation programme, supported by Abbott and ESB Networks, providing FREE CPR training in communities across Ireland for adults aged 18 years and over. Each training course takes less than an hour to complete.

The course concentrates on recognising cardiac arrest, making the emergency call, listening to the call taker and knowing your Eircode. Candidates then get to practice compression-only CPR on a manikin. Awareness of how to use an AED, how to help someone who is choking, how to perform CPR on a child, recognising stroke and the difference between a cardiac arrest and a heart attack are also covered – all in only one hour and for FREE.
